Ahlul Bayt News Agency, GAZA CITY -- The Gaza government's minister of religious affairs said Saturday that Israel was planning on converting a mosque in northern Israel into a "tourist site."

Taleb Abu Sha'ar did not give details of the plans for the Al-Jazzar Mosque in Acre, northern Israel but said the holy site was "exposed to a fierce campaign by the Israeli government to turn the mosque into a tourist site."

He accused Israeli police of incitement against Muslims in the city by "monitoring and tracking the movement of worshipers in mosques, within a framework of eradicating Muslims and Islam."
