The 11th and 12th volumes of the Al-Mizan Exegesis of the Holy Quran have been translated into Turkish.

Ahlul Bayt News Agency (ABNA.ir), Musa Gunes director of Turkey’s pavilion at the 18th International Quran Exhibition in Tehran said that the translation has been rendered by two prominent translators Vahdettin Ince and Salih Ucan.

He said the two volumes (11th and 12th) will be published before the end of the holy month of Ramadan by the Kowsar Cultural-Scientific Institute in Istanbul.

“A team of experts, including Hojat-ol-Islam Abbas Kazemi, director of the Kowsar institute’s publications, Hojat-ol-Islam Seyyed Sajjad Hosseini and myself, is supervising the translation to make sure it is an accurate rendering,” he noted.

He said the rest of the volumes (20 in total) have also been translated and are being edited, adding that the remaining 8 volumes will be gradually published in the coming years.

Mr. Gunes said following publication of Al-Mizan’s translation (the first ten volumes) in Turkish, misunderstandings in Turkey towards Shia Islam have been altered. “Now most of those buying the translation are Sunni Muslims.”

Al-Mizan Exegesis of the Holy Quran by late Allameh Tabataba’ee is one of the major Quran interpretations in the Islamic world.
