Ahlul Bayt News Agency (ABNA.ir), Haj Ali Akram Aliev has secretly sent about 30 letters and 20 notes to his family and friends while in prison; the translation of his letters is now gathered in a volume called “Letters from Prison”.
He was born in 1940 in a village called Nardaran, 25 kilometers to Baku, and has been opposing the ruling communist soviet regime from early adulthood and proved loyalty to religious values.
With the culmination of the Islamic Revolution of Iran and following the related news, he got attracted to Imam Khomeini and formed the group of Islamic Revolution fans and followers of Imam. The Islamist leader of Republic of Azerbaijan now follows the supreme leader of Iran.
Ali Akram Aliev has been active in propagation of religious knowledge and holding commemorative sessions for the martyrs of the revolution and the imposed war, and absorbed public attention which was finally jailed by the security organization of his country between the years 1996 to 1999 and also from 2002 to 2003.
The book “Letters from Prison” is published in pertinence with 70th birthday of Ali Akram Aliev, leader of Islamists of the Republic of Azerbaijan, in 128 pages, 1000 copies and price of 20,000 Rials by Yaz Publications.
In 2007 The Center for Islamic Revolution Documents had also published a book titled “Memories of Haj Ali Akram Aliev”.
