An international conference on “Islam’s Role in Women’s Life” is set to be held on May 27-28 in Istanbul by the Turkey’s Woman Activists Society.

Ahlul Bayt News Agency (ABNA.ir), Gulseren Onanc, head of the Society said that one of the themes of the conference will be role of women in developing the society.

Referring to the attacks on Hijab in seminars held all around the world, she noted that the conference is a good opportunity for Muslim Women to defend their rights and object to the western attacks on Islamic teachings regarding women.

A number of scholars, intellectuals, and university professors including, Tareq Ramazan, Oxford University professor, Aude Zieseniss, head of Women’s Forum, and Qasan Salamah, professor of International Relations in the University of Sciences Po will address the conference.

Some 350 Women intellectuals will also attend the event.
