ABNA Team Reports from Resting Area on Najaf to Karbala Route as Community Comes Together to Serve Pilgrims

On the procession route from Najaf to Karbala, ABNA correspondent Ali reports from a resting area where pilgrims find relief from the scorching summer heat, with temperatures reaching nearly 40 degrees Celsius at night and even higher during the day, and describes a community where food, water, and shelter are provided free of charge by hosts who consider the pilgrims as guests of Imam Ali and Imam Hussain.

Ahlul Bayt (AS) International News Agency - ABNA: ABNA correspondent Ali reported from a resting area along the Najaf to Karbala route, where pilgrims heading to the shrine of Aba Abdillah al Hussain were taking a break from their journey.

He noted that it is very hot right now, in the middle of the summer, with nights reaching almost 40 degrees Celsius and days being much hotter, so people need places to rest, and all these places are provided free of charge for anyone who needs them.

Ali looked around and observed people sleeping, talking, and doing things they wanted, describing how this has become a sort of lifestyle for them every year, where Iraqis start the whole thing and everyone that is here participates.

He explained that if you are hungry, you do not even need to go out, you can just call the closest person to you and ask if there is anything to eat, and the same applies if you are thirsty or need anything else.

Ali noted that most of the time you do not even need to ask, because when it is meal time, they bring you food right there or outside, or in many other places that have been built for this specific purpose, to be good hosts for those pilgrims who are actually guests of Imam Ali and Imam Hussain.

He emphasized that the only thing you see here is people loving each other and doing the same thing for the same reason, helping one another along the way.

Ali described this as the culture here, intensified because of this short period of time in which they do it, but overall it is the culture in the whole Middle East and Islamic countries, especially Shia countries.

He extended an invitation to viewers, no matter where they are, who they are, or what religion they subscribe to, whether Muslim, Shia, Christian, or any other religion, encouraging them to come and see for themselves because words cannot really describe what is going on.
