ABNA24 - Sheikh Ahmad Al-Qattan, head of the "Qawlena wal Amal" association and Friday imam of Lebanese Sunni Muslims, emphasized the necessity of trusting in God when facing threats. Citing Quranic verses, he said that believers, under any circumstances, believe in divine assistance and see victory as near.
Sheikh Ahmad Al-Qattan, head of the "Qawlena wal Amal" association and Friday imam of Lebanese Sunnis, speaking about how believers should face threats, referred to the verse: "Those to whom people said, 'Indeed, the people have gathered against you, so fear them.' But it increased them in faith, and they said, 'Sufficient for us is Allah, and He is the best Disposer of affairs.'" (Qur'an 3:173)
He said: When believers are confronted with the plots and threats of the enemy, they seek help from Almighty God.
Emphasizing that believers must always keep in mind God's infinite power, he continued: In the following verse it says:
"So they returned with favor from Allah and bounty, no harm having touched them. And they pursued the pleasure of Allah, and Allah is the possessor of great bounty." (Qur'an 3:174)
Sheikh Al-Qattan said: We rely only on the power of Almighty God. Because the believers mentioned in the previous verses were truthful, God included them in His grace and mercy. The One who harms and benefits is God. If God wills good for a servant, no one can harm him, and if God wills harm for someone, no power can prevent it.
Referring to the behavior of the Prophet's companions during the Battle of the Trench, he said: "When they heard that the enemies had gathered, their faith increased, and 'they returned with favor from God and pleasure, no harm having touched them.'" Al-Qattan stressed: "We must strengthen our relationship with God."
The head of Lebanon's "Qawlena wal Amal" association added: "Achieving victory sometimes requires sacrifice and martyrdom, and success cannot be attained without paying a price. Ultimately, victory will belong to the believers."
The Sunni Friday imam continued: "In the early days of the war against Iran, many said the regime would collapse within a week, but those analyses were due to lack of faith and ignorance." He also pointed to examples from historical narrations about the words of hypocrites at the time of the Prophet, beating the drum of despair and hopelessness when facing enemies.
Referring also to the verse: "And to enter the mosque as they entered it the first time, and to destroy what they had taken over with total destruction." (Qur'an 17:7)
He said: God's promise will be fulfilled. Recalling the three‑year siege of Muslims in the Shib Abi Talib valley, he said: "The polytheists had written a pact to boycott the Prophet and his followers, and God destroyed it by termites, except for the phrase 'Bismik Allahumma' (In Your name, O God)."
Al-Qattan concluded: "If all nations stand against us, God will not give them power to overcome us. We must remain steadfast in our faith. Know that victory is near."
