AhlulBayt News Agency: An official memorial ceremony marking the 40th day since the martyrdom of Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, was held in Baku on April 10, drawing high-ranking Azerbaijani officials, religious figures, and community representatives.
The event, held at a formal venue in the Azerbaijani capital, was attended by Shahin Mustafayev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan, alongside a delegation of government officials and senior clerics. A parallel ceremony was also convened in the Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic.
The proceedings commenced with a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran.
Addressing the gathering, Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazadeh, Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims' Board, delivered a keynote speech reflecting on his personal memories of the martyred Leader. He elaborated on Ayatollah Khamenei's profound spiritual legacy and his pivotal influence across the Islamic world. Amid references to ongoing global conflicts and tragedies, Pashazadeh expressed hope for the establishment of lasting peace, security, and prosperity for all humanity.
In his remarks, Mojtaba Demirchilu, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Azerbaijan, provided an overview of the martyred Ayatollah Khamenei's life, his religious and political endeavors, and his lasting impact on the Muslim Ummah. Ambassador Demirchilu expressed deep appreciation for the solidarity and the "humanitarian and spiritual support" extended by the Republic of Azerbaijan since the onset of the recent crisis.
The commemoration continued with additional addresses from other religious scholars, all paying tribute to the memory and esteemed social and religious contributions of the martyred Imam.
The ceremony served as a focal point for regional mourning, underscoring the close ties and mutual respect between the two neighboring nations in honoring the legacy of the late Leader.
