Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan has expressed deep sorrow over US-Israeli attacks on civilians in Iran and conveyed condolences during a phone call with his Iranian counterpart.

According to Iran’s Foreign Ministry, Mirzoyan spoke with Abbas Araghchi on Saturday night to discuss regional developments and the consequences of continued US and Israeli military aggression against Iran.

During the call, Mirzoyan congratulated Iran on Nowruz and wished peace and stability for its people.

He also conveyed the condolences and sympathy of the Armenian government and people over the martyrdom of Iran’s Leader, senior officials, and citizens.

The Armenian minister further expressed “deep regret” over attacks targeting civilians, particularly school students at the Shajareh Tayyebeh school in Minab, voicing solidarity with the victims’ families and the Iranian nation.

Araghchi, for his part, thanked Armenia for its supportive stance and briefed his counterpart on war crimes and “gross violations of human rights and humanitarian law,” including attacks on schools, hospitals, cultural sites, infrastructure, and residential areas.

He reaffirmed Iran’s determination to defend its sovereignty and stressed that “America is the main cause of insecurity and the current crisis in West Asia and the Strait of Hormuz.”

The United States and Israel launched a war of aggression against Iran on February 28, assassinating Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and top military commanders while targeting civilian infrastructure across the country.
