AhlulBayt News Agency: The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) has expressed serious concern over the ongoing tensions in West Asia amid the US-Israeli military attacks on Iran, voicing support for the Iranian government and people.
In a statement published Monday night on its official website, the SCO extended condolences to the families of those killed in the attacks and reaffirmed its solidarity with Iran. The organization described the use of force in international affairs as unacceptable, noting that disputes must be resolved through peaceful means.
The SCO emphasized dialogue, mutual respect, and consideration of the legitimate interests of all parties in accordance with international law and the principles of the United Nations Charter. It also underscored the need to safeguard Iran’s sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity.
The organization called on all sides to exercise restraint and urged the United Nations and its Security Council to take immediate steps to uphold international peace and security.
The SCO’s members include Russia, China, India, Iran, Pakistan, and several Central Asian states.
