AhlulBayt News Agency: The Cabinet of the Islamic Republic of Iran has called on the public to participate in ceremonies marking the fortieth day since the deaths of those described as martyrs and victims of the recent incidents.
According to the cabinet’s statement, commemorative gatherings will be held on Tuesday in Tehran and across provincial capitals in a gesture of solidarity and sympathy with the bereaved families.
“We are all in mourning,” the statement read, adding that the life of every Iranian citizen is valued and that their loss is deeply painful.
According to Mehr, the statement further claimed that peaceful protests on January 8 and 9 escalated into violent unrest with the involvement of elements linked to Mossad and backed by the United States, resulting in the deaths of 3,117 Iranian citizens.
The cabinet also emphasized that families of the deceased are free to organize their own memorial gatherings and ceremonies in accordance with their traditions and wishes.
