Israeli Rabbi Arrested Over Alleged Sexual Assault of Married Woman

A Hebrew-language Israeli newspaper, Yedioth Ahronoth, has revealed that Israeli police recently arrested a well-known Israeli rabbi in connection with a sexual assault case in the northern areas of the occupied Palestinian territories.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): A Hebrew-language Israeli newspaper, Yedioth Ahronoth, has revealed that Israeli police recently arrested a well-known Israeli rabbi in connection with a sexual assault case in the northern areas of the occupied Palestinian territories.

According to the report, the rabbi—whose name has not been disclosed—was accused of committing sexual offenses against a married woman who was studying at a Torah school under his supervision.

The allegations state that the rabbi abused his position and influence, gaining the trust of the married student and her family. He allegedly used claims of “spiritual revelation” and references to the “birth of a Zionist savior” to persuade her to bear his child.

The report further claims that the rabbi maintained meetings with the woman from 2013 over several years, including encounters at his home and other locations, during which sexual relations allegedly took place.

Israeli media described the rabbi as a “well-known figure” in Israel. A complaint was reportedly filed against him approximately two years ago, in 2024. However, shortly afterward, a court order was issued prohibiting the publication of his name.
