Assyrian church priest says Islamic Revolution regained Iran’s dignity

A priest at the Assyrian Church of the East in Orumiyeh, West Azarbaijan Province, has said the Islamic Revolution restored dignity to Iran by bringing independence to the country.

AhlulBayt News Agency: A priest at the Assyrian Church of the East in Orumiyeh, West Azarbaijan Province, has said the Islamic Revolution restored dignity to Iran by bringing independence to the country.

Daryavoush Azizian made the remarks on Sunday evening during a ceremony marking the Ten-Day Dawn celebrations held by Iran’s Assyrian community to commemorate the 47th anniversary of the Islamic Republic.

He said the Islamic Revolution was achieved through sacrifice and is preserved through practical commitment to justice, independence, and spirituality.

Emphasizing that safeguarding the Islamic Revolution is a collective responsibility, Azizian said all segments of society, including artists, workers, students, and teachers, must play their role. “If the values of the revolution remain alive, the revolution itself will endure,” he added.

Referring to the Ten-Day Dawn as a reminder of the renewed dignity of the Iranian nation, he said the occasion is not merely the anniversary of a political victory but a commemoration of the values on which the Islamic Revolution was founded.

Azizian described justice, independence, and spirituality as the main pillars of the 1979 Islamic Revolution, noting that justice goes beyond economic distribution to include human dignity, fair access to opportunities, and opposition to corruption and favoritism.

He also said that independence is the main condition of achieving national dignity, adding that independence means that a nation decides its fate without relying on foreign powers.
