Prosecutor general: Anti-IRGC move shows EU's submission to global arrogance

Iran's Prosecutor General Mohammad Movahedi Azad has deplored the European Union for designating the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) a terrorist organization, calling the bloc's action an example of human rights violations and contrary to freedom of expression.

AhlulBayt News Agency: Iran's Prosecutor General Mohammad Movahedi Azad has deplored the European Union for designating the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) a terrorist organization, calling the bloc's action an example of human rights violations and contrary to freedom of expression.

Addressing the 25th session of the Council of Deputy Attorneys General on Saturday, Movahedi Azad noted that the latest anti-Iran move by the EU is condemnable from a legal, judicial, political, and international perspective.

Recalling the famous quote of the founder of the Islamic Republic, Ayatollah Khomeini, that "if there did not exist the Guard Corps, there would not exist a country either," he said the IRGC, which came from the heart of the Islamic Revolution, was not just a military institution, but rather a culture of defending the oppressed of the world.

The prosecutor general underscored that the IRGC had always stood alongside other armed forces to defend the country's security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.

According to him, European countries have completely submitted themselves to the global arrogance, as their hostile action against Iran and support for Israeli terrorism show they have no independent will of their own and are subject to the policies of the United States and the Israeli regime.

Movahedi Azad urged Iranian officials and relevant organizations to make efforts to expose the crimes of the United States and explain to the public what the US and its allies intended in creating unrest in the country.

He concluded by saying that the Islamic Republic did not have an issue with the American people, but rather with their culture of hegemony and arrogant leaders.
