AhlulBayt News Agency: The Intellectual and Cultural Affairs Department of the Al‑Abbas’s (p) Holy Shrine took part in the Second International Heritage Conference in Najaf, contributing ten scientific research papers to the event.

The conference was hosted by the Alawi Institute for Research and Islamic Studies at the Imam Ali’s (p) Holy Shrine, under the title “The Manuscript Heritage in the Libraries of Najaf Ashraf: A Treasure of Civilization and History” and the slogan “Najafi Heritage: Authenticity and Radiance.” A distinguished group of scholars and manuscript specialists participated.

Mr. Noor al‑Din Al‑Moussawi, director of the Library and Manuscript House of the Al‑Abbas’s (p) Holy Shrine, stated that the delegation presented ten papers that enriched the conference sessions. He noted that researchers from the Manuscript Imaging and Cataloging Center contributed eight papers addressing various historical and contemporary aspects of Najaf’s heritage.

He added that the Indexing and Information Systems Center also presented two papers focusing on national projects, including the Iraqi Knowledge Gateway and the bibliographic file of Iraqi authors, and their role in documenting and providing access to Najaf’s manuscript heritage.

Al‑Moussawi emphasized that these contributions reflect the Holy Shrine’s commitment to strengthening its knowledge‑based projects within academic platforms and helping build a strong scientific memory that preserves heritage for future generations.

He further noted that the conference’s organizing committee honored the participating researchers at the closing ceremony in recognition of their valuable contributions and the scholarly work that enriched the conference’s themes.
