Assadollah Eshragh Jahromi, Iran's Ambassador in Vienna, accused Western nations on last Sunday of displaying double standards towards protests by claiming that Iranian riot police have exercised maximum restraint while some forces have been killed or injured in clashes with rioters.
He also criticized the imposition of tougher sanctions on Iran and the lack of response to protests in the United States as evidence of this bias.
Jahromi also referenced interventionist comments by US President Donald Trump and Israeli officials regarding developments in Iran, calling for international condemnation of such hostile measures against a sovereign member of the UN.
