AhlulBayt News Agency: Malaysia has officially declared joining the humanitarian aid convoy Global Sumud Flotilla as part of efforts to support the Palestinians in Gaza.
Malaysian Prime Minister, Anwar Ibrahim, made the announcement in a post on his social media Facebook account calling that a measure in line with a global fight for justice and human rights The Malaysian top official vowed that the country will try its best to assist the Palestinians and defend their right.
Anwar Ibrahim stressed that the direct intervention of government is in line with a moral fight in international levels that summons courage and perseverance” calling that a commitment beyond borders, ethnicities and religions.
Consisting of more than eighty countries, the humanitarian convoy will resume mission to send the voice of Palestinians to the world community and break the Israeli siege of the war-ravaged Gaza strip.
The Global Sumud Flotilla is an international coalition of peace activists and rescue workers from different countries established with the aim of sending humanitarian aid and breaking the Gaza blockade through the sea.
In 2025, more than 480 activists from Malaysia, Indonesia, Turkey and other countries set off on a mission from Tunisia and Italy towards Gaza. The convoy was stopped by Israeli regime forces and the activists were abducted before being released by intervention of the regional countries including Egypt, Qatar and Turkey.
