Two separates explosions in southern Afghanistan killed at least 11 security personnel and wounded three others on Friday.

The blasts took place near Tarin Kowt, the capital of Oruzgan in southern Afghanistan.

The first bomb killed three police officers and injured three civilians. The province was struck by a second roadside bomb a few hours later, fatally wounding eight Afghan soldiers.

No one has claimed responsibility for the attacks.

Earlier this week, 40 people were killed and many wounded after a bomb exploded in the eastern provinces of Paktia and Khost.
