Turkey’s BTP Party plans to establish a University of Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) in the country, e-haberajansi reported.

Expressing condolences on the occasion of Muharram and the anniversary of Imam Hussein’s (AS) martyrdom, head of the party told the Turkish press that the university would be a symbol of Islamic unity in the country.

“Turkey’s Shia and Sunni Muslims have a long history of living together peacefully and fraternally,” Haydar Bas said. “The University of Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) will be a symbol of unity among Shia and Sunni brothers of this country.”

He said that many Turkish citizens who love the school of Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) travel to other countries to study in religious fields. “With the establishment of this university, they can pursue their studies here in their country.”

Haydar Bas did not specify in which city the university would be founded.
