Hojjatoleslam Mohsen Abbasnezhad added in a press conference, “These researchers from the seminaries and universities are all experts in Qur’anic sciences on the one hand and each a theoretician in a different scientific field.” He said, “They began compiling this interpretation in the framework of 14 work groups and began their scientific work on the auspicious birth anniversary of the 8th Infallible Imam, Ali ibn Moussa al-Reza (P).” Abbasnezhad said, “So far three major steps have been taken in compiling this interpretation, including holding national and international Qur’anic conferences during the past six yeas, in which the Glorious Qur’an’s relation with the modern day sciences were surveyed, and the methodology of compiling a scientific interpretation of the holy Qur’an was devised as the first step.” The Head of Seminary and University Qur’anic Research Fund added, “In the course of the meetings we had with the grand sources of jurisprudence we surveyed the various aspects of the job in the framework of research works and projects launched by the researchers of this fund, which was another major step for compiling this interpretation.” He said the establishment of the Qur’an and Sciences Research Center with three departments and 14 scientific work groups was the third major step taken in this respect, reiterating, “The said research center, the need to whose establishment was stressed during the last week meeting between Razavi Khorasan Province elites and the president will be established soon in Mash’had thanks to the speedy issuance of the required permits by the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology.” The head of the Seminary and University Research Fund added, “Compiling this interpretation would be the best opportunity for elaborating the fundamentals of the human and natural sciences in accordance with the Qur’anic concepts, which would be an evolution in the field of the human sciences.
