AhlulBayt News Agency: Israel has reportedly escalated its military campaign against Iran by targeting two key natural gas installations in southern Iran, marking a significant intensification of the conflict.
On Saturday evening, an Israeli drone struck a section of the South Pars Gas Condensate Field, triggering an explosion and a fire. South Pars, primarily an offshore facility, also has several onshore sections. The attack specifically targeted an onshore segment in Phase 14 of the field. Gas production was briefly disrupted, but local reports indicate that the fire was swiftly contained and did not spread to other areas.
According to IRNA, in a separate strike, another Israeli drone hit the Fajr-e Jam natural gas processing facility in eastern Bushehr Province.
The latest attacks follow Israel’s initial wave of strikes inside Iranian territory on Friday night, which targeted air defense systems, nuclear energy sites, and senior Iranian military officials. In response, Iran launched retaliatory strikes deep into Israeli territory, hitting Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. Iranian officials have stated that their operations will continue as long as necessary.
The targeting of Iran’s energy infrastructure marks a new phase in the conflict, further escalating tensions between the two nations.
