AhlulBayt News Agency: Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson has warned that Iran, backed by its allies, is not alone, cautioning that any US attack on the Islamic Republic could escalate into a world war, leading to America’s defeat.
Carlson raised concerns on Thursday, as Iran reaffirmed the inseparable nature of uranium enrichment in its nuclear program, rejecting US President Donald Trump’s demand for “zero-level” enrichment.
The US administration’s provocative stance has already disrupted Oman-mediated negotiations between Tehran and Washington, leaving the future of the talks uncertain and increasing the risk of military confrontation.
In a post on X, Carlson accused figures like Mark Levin of pushing for war with Iran under the guise of preventing nuclear proliferation, arguing that there is no credible evidence that Iran is close to developing a nuclear bomb.
“It’s a lie. In fact, there is zero credible intelligence suggesting Iran is anywhere near building a bomb or has plans to. None. Anyone who claims otherwise is ignorant or dishonest,” Carlson stated.
Carlson criticized Levin and other war advocates, accusing them of exploiting fear to justify another disastrous conflict, warning that a war with Iran would be far more dangerous than previous US interventions.
“Iran may not have nukes, but it has a fearsome arsenal of ballistic missiles, many aimed at US military installations in the Persian Gulf, as well as at critical energy infrastructure. The first week of war could kill thousands of Americans and collapse the US economy due to surging oil prices,” he warned.
Carlson emphasized that Iran has strong allies, including Russia and China, through BRICS, and plays a vital role in global oil markets.
“Iran isn’t Iraq, Libya, or North Korea. It has powerful allies and is part of BRICS, which represents the majority of the world’s landmass, population, economy, and military power. An attack on Iran could easily become a world war. We’d lose,” he stressed.
Carlson also accused war advocates of intentionally provoking Iran by making unrealistic demands, aiming to corner Trump into betraying his anti-war promises.
Iran and the US have held five rounds of indirect talks on a replacement for the 2015 nuclear deal, but negotiations remain stalled due to US demands for Iran to halt uranium enrichment.
