AhlulBayt News Agency - The Israeli occupation police on Monday issued an order banning the entry of a Al-Quds (Jerusalemite) citizen to the Aqsa Mosque for two months.
44-year-old Awad al-Salaymeh said that he was interrogated for about five hours in Qishleh police station in west Jerusalem before he was handed a notice ordering him to stay away from the Aqsa Mosque for two months.
Salaymeh told Quds Press that the police accused him of being responsible for organizing a number of activities at the Aqsa Mosque, including sit-ins and marches.
He condemned the Israeli measure against him as unjust and affirmed he would continue to pray near the Aqsa Mosque.
"The occupation persistently attempts to realize its goal of seizing the Aqsa Mosque, so it keeps using all possible means to keep the Palestinians away from it," he said.
According to Quds Press, the Israeli police banned the entry of over 160 Palestinians from Jerusalem, its Old City and the Aqsa Mosque since the start of 2016.
