A raw footage has recently gone viral featuring a secret meeting between the former commander of the Saudi-backed Army of Islam (Jaysh Islam), Zahran Alloush, with leaders of Faylaq al-Rahman and the FSA-affiliated Liwaa al-Umma.
The meeting, which was recorded with a hidden camera, shows the two parties having a bitter quarrel over the ownership of $12 Million received by Zahran Alloush from his regional backers.
Despite angry protests from his local rivals, Alloush presented himself as the supreme leader of Eastern Ghouta region and the one who has the right to decide on how to spend the money.
The slain rebel commander made clear that this money belongs only to Jaysh al-Islam, adding “for five years on, I have been meeting with our regional backers and receiving money from them”
The video blatantly refutes former claims by Alloush himself that nearly 90% of his military equipment and weapons are war trophies captured from the Syrian Arab Army (SAA), with only 10% purchased from black market.
The video acts as another conclusive evidence about the malicious role undertaken by regional countries, namely Saudi Arabia and Qatar, to destabilize the country and topple the Syrian President Bashar Assad.
Early on April, former Qatari Foreign Minister Hamad bin Jassim Al Thani admitted, in an interview with the British newspaper Financial Times, that Qatar and KSA fueled the war on Syria with Washington’s green light, flagrantly saying: “what happened in Syria was not a revolution but an international gameplay”.
