Top ISIS commander killed by Lebanese Army in Qalamoun Mountains near Syrian border

The Lebanese Army carried out a successful military operation at Jaroud ‘Arsal on Thursday, targeting the headquarters of the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) near the Syrian border-crossing in the Qalamoun Mountains.

AhlulBayt News Agency - The Lebanese Army carried out a successful military operation at Jaroud ‘Arsal on Thursday, targeting the headquarters of the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) near the Syrian border-crossing in the Qalamoun Mountains.

The military operation resulted in the destruction of ISIS’ headquarters at Jaroud ‘Arsal and the death of the top terrorist commander in the region.

According to a Lebanese security source, the Lebanese Army killed Nayef Al-Sha’alan (top ISIS commander/official) and his associate Ahmad Marwat during the military operation.

In addition to killing several ISIS fighters, the Lebanese Army also arrested several terrorists, including the well-known combatant Mohammad Musli.
