Syria: 5 villages captured by ISIS militants in northern Aleppo

The so-called Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) captured 5 villages from the extremist rebels of the Free Syrian Army (FSA) and Jabhat Al-Shamiya (Levantine Front) on Tuesday after launching a counter-offensive near the strategic city of ‘Azaz in northern Aleppo.

AhlulBayt News Agency - The so-called Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) captured 5 villages from the extremist rebels of the Free Syrian Army (FSA) and Jabhat Al-Shamiya (Levantine Front) on Tuesday after launching a counter-offensive near the strategic city of ‘Azaz in northern Aleppo.

According to ISIS’ media wing “Al-Amaq”, the aforementioned terrorist group imposed full control over Tahmoul, Jariz Kafrah, Fayruziyah, Tilal Al-Hussein, and Dudiyan on Monday afternoon.

Of the villages captured by ISIS in northern Aleppo on Tuesday, only Dudiyan was not previously under their control.

As a result of these recent advances in northern Aleppo, ISIS is now within striking distance of the rebel stronghold of ‘Azaz and the nearby Bab Al-Salamiyah border-crossing into Turkey.

If the extremist rebel forces lose ‘Azaz to the ISIS terrorists, then they will most likely concede the Bab Al-Salamiyah border-crossing as well.
