After losing its financial sources, the militant group has started trading human organs to compensate its financial loss.
While the ISIS is already practising numerous sorts of crimes against humanity inside and outside its territories, the group has also started illegal organ trafficking in order to enhance its financial capacity.
An official of Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) in Mosul said that there is compelling data that IS has been trafficking organs of the wounded casualties and its captives, particularly those who are sentenced to death.
The organs such as kidneys, hearts and others are taken out by a special surgeon and are being smuggled to black markets outside Iraq to further finance the group, the official said.
Esmat Rajab, the KDP official in Mosul, said that some people whose organs were taken out have not been aware until the medical tests revealed it after they fled the IS-held territories.
After losing its financial sources, the militant group may increase the trade of human organs and a huge number of people are expected to face such inhuman practice, he added.
Earlier in 2015, the Iraqi Ambassador to the United Nations urged the organization to investigate “IS’s bloody trade in human organs.”
He revealed at that time that a large number of civilian corpses, with missing body parts, have been recovered from mass graves, “and it proves the allegations are true.”
