40 ISIL Members Killed as Bashir Liberation Operation Continues
A source in Iraqi military announced on Monday that at least 40 ISIL militants were killed and more than 25 other were wounded during the liberation operation in al-Bashir region in Southern Kirkuk.
The source in Iraqi military said in a statement that "the battles in al-Bashir area resulted in killing 40 ISIL fighters and wounding more than 25 others”.
“The clashes also led to the killing of nine Iraqi local fighters of al-Hashd al-Shaabi volunteer forces fighting with Iraqi military in the region," the sources added.
“However, the whole operation was a success as the Iraqi security forces backed by popular para-military fighters managed to liberate the villages of Albu Moufarej and al-Mazraa West of al-Bashir village,”
"Meanwhile, the Iraqi aircraft managed to destroy three car-bombs driven by suicide bombers on the roads in the area.”
Iraqi army has gained the upper hand in battle against ISIL in Kirkuk province, As in the weekend, the Iraqi Army and their allies pushed back ISIL militants in fresh special operation in the Western part of the village of Bashir in the province.
Iraqi security forces backed by popular forces advanced toward the Southwestern part of Bashir village, hitting ISIL positions and imposing heavy casualties on them.
The development occurs as Iraqi security forces also are making more gains against ISIL militants in the Western province of Anbar.
Security and popular forces manage to liberate the city of Hit on Monday, as part of their operation to drive out terrorists from the Anbar province.
Iraqi Security forces cleanse Heet Hospital in western Anbar, 40 ISIS fighters killed
On Tuesday, Hit District Council in Anbar Province announced the cleansing of Heet Teaching Hospital and al-Jamayia neighborhood in Heet District in western Anbar, while pointed out that the operations resulted in the killing of 40 ISIS fighters.
The Head of Hit Council, Mohammed Mohannad al-Hiti, said in a press statement “The security forces managed to cleanse Heet Hospital and al-Jamayia neighborhood in central Hit, after fierce battles against ISIS fighters. ”
Hiti added, “The cleansing battles resulted in the killing of 40 ISIS members, in addition to destructing nine vehicles,” noting that, “The security forces are advancing in al-Zohor neighborhood.”
“The next few hours will witness the liberation of the remaining areas of Heet, as well as raising the Iraqi flag over its government buildings,” Hiti continued.
23 ISIS militants killed, wounded by Iraqi airstrike north of Mosul
A source in Nineveh Liberation Operations Command announced on Monday, that 23 ISIS militants were either killed or wounded by an Iraqi air strike north of Mosul.
The source said that “Iraqi aircraft bombed ISIS gatherings in Balawat village in Hamadaniya District (30 km north of Mosul), killing nine ISIS fighters and injuring 14 others.”
The source, who asked anonymity, added: “The bombing also resulted in the burning and destruction of three ISIS vehicles.”
