AhlulBayt News Agency - The Hamas Movement has expressed its rejection of the decision taken by Palestinian Authority president Mahmoud Abbas to form a constitutional court and described it as an "illegal and unilateral action."
"The continuation of Mahmoud Abbas as head of the Palestinian Authority was by consensus, so any major decisions, such as the formation of a constitutional court, must rely on common consent until elections are held," spokesman for Hamas Sami Abu Zuhri stated on Monday.
Abu Zuhri also reiterated his Movement's condemnation of recent remarks made by Abbas justifying his security collaboration with Israel and opposing his people's intifada against the occupation.
He said that such remarks would harm the Palestinians' higher interests and encourage Israel to commit more crimes against them.
