AhlulBayt News Agency: Elon Musk announced on Tuesday that Saudi Arabia has approved the use of Starlink, his satellite internet service, for aviation and maritime sectors. The approval comes as Musk continues efforts to expand his businesses, coinciding with former U.S. President Donald Trump’s visit to the region.
Speaking at the Saudi-American Investment Forum in Riyadh, Musk expressed gratitude to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for granting approval for Starlink’s operations in Saudi Arabia.
Starlink, owned and operated by Musk’s aerospace and defense company SpaceX, provides satellite-based internet services globally.
During the event, Musk also revealed that he had demonstrated several of Tesla’s Optimus humanoid robots—currently in development—to Trump and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
Musk emphasized the potential of autonomous vehicles in Saudi Arabia, stating, “I think it would be very exciting to have autonomous vehicles here in the kingdom, indeed, if you’re amenable.”
Tesla has long promoted self-driving cars and humanoid robots as central to its future profitability, positioning them as key innovations in the company’s long-term strategy.
