Lady Masoumeh (a.s.), role model of patience, perseverance on the path of God’s Wali

The Custodian of the Holy Shrine of Imam Reza (a.s.) stated, “Lady Masoumeh (a.s.) was a true embodiment of perseverance and patience on the path of God’s Wali,” adding that one of the main purposes of her migration from Medina to Khorasan, beside visiting the Wali of God, Imam Reza (a.s.), was to emphasize the authority and lofty status of the Imam.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Ayatollah Ahmad Marvi, Custodian of the Holy Shrine of Imam Reza (a.s.), spoke at the Sermon Recitation Ceremony marking the beginning of the Ten Days of Dignity celebrations on the birth anniversary of Lady Masoumeh (a.s.) at her Holy Shrine. “Imam Reza (a.s.) said in a narration that a believer does not attain the rank of true faith unless he has an attribute from his God, one from His Prophet (p.b.u.h), and one from his Imam (a.s.).”

“The trait a believer must inherit from his Imam is steadfastness, patience, and perseverance in the face of hardship,” he said. “God states in the Holy Quran that if a believer is adorned with steadfastness and patience for the sake of his faith and religion, God will quench him with abundant water. In contrast, one who succumbs to weakness, deviation, and misguidance will face an ever-increasing punishment.”

The Custodian of the Holy Shrine of Imam Reza (a.s.) remarked that many deviations stem from weakness and a lack of perseverance, especially among the elite of society. “On the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Sadiq (a.s.), the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution recalled the historical experience of the years 70 and 140 AH, highlighting a painful and instructive truth. The failure to exercise patience, misplaced objections, erroneous analyses by the elite, and indiscreet speech not only wasted great opportunities but also set back the natural course of civilizational progress for decades and centuries.”

Lady Masoumeh (a.s.), role model of patience, perseverance on the path of God’s Wali (Infallible Imam)

Ayatollah Ahmad Marvi, Custodian of the Holy Shrine of Imam Reza (a.s.), emphasized that Lady Masoumeh (a.s.) was a shining example of endurance and determination in following God’s representative. “One of the main goals of her migration from Medina to Khorasan, besides visiting the Wali of God, Imam Reza (a.s.), was to highlight the authority and lofty status of the Imam,” he added.

He stressed that Lady Fatima Masoumeh (a.s.) holds an exalted position in propagating Shiite teachings. “A narrator reported visiting Imam Sadiq (a.s.), during which Lady Fatima Masoumeh (a.s.) was mentioned, even though Imam Kazim (a.s.), her father and the son of Imam Sadiq (a.s.), had not yet been born.”

“Lady Masoumeh (a.s.) endured great hardships during her migration in order to attain her lofty rank, and ultimately, she sacrificed her precious life in service to the infallible Imam (a.s.) and the front of Imamate and Wilayah,” Marvi said.

He added that numerous scholarly, political, and civilizational legacies have been achieved through Lady Masoumeh (a.s.), one of which is the Islamic Revolution, a blessing derived from her and her endurance on the path of Imamate and Wilayah.

The Custodian of the Holy Shrine of Imam Reza (a.s.) concluded, “One cannot be certain of his good fate if one advances ahead of the Imam. The message of Lady Masoumeh (a.s.) is patience and steadfastness in the Imam’s path and moving behind the Imam (following him). Therefore, today, whatever the wise and noble Leader of the Revolution determines, we must follow him. In our analyses and stances, the position and statements of the Wali of the time must hold priority.”
