Amid Syria’s collapsed sovereignty; Will Zionists turn Jabal al-Sheikh into a second Golan?

An Arab world analyst has examined the actions of the Zionist regime and the brazen movements of its senior military officials in Syria.

AhlulBayt News Agency: Abdel Bari Atwan, an Arab analyst, in an article published in the pan-regional newspaper Rai Al-Youm, highlighted the patrol of an Israeli military delegation led by General Eyal Zamir, Chief of Staff of the Israeli army, in the occupied areas of Jabal al-Sheikh and the buffer zone in Syria.

According to Pars Today, Atwan wrote that Zamir’s unopposed entry into Jabal al-Sheikh and the buffer zone signifies that the new Syria, devoid of sovereignty and authority, is entirely submissive to the conditions imposed by the Occupying Regime through force.

He added that southern Syria is rapidly transforming into another Golan, with the Zionist occupation becoming permanent rather than temporary. This reality was mentioned by Benjamin Netanyahu a few days ago when he stated that “Israeli forces’ control over southern Syria will continue for an indefinite period.”

The Arab analyst pointed out Turkey’s lack of response to the Zionist regime’s attacks and actions, despite Ankara being a major supporter of Syria’s new regime. He noted that Israeli warplanes conducted over 200 strikes on military airports in northern Syria near the Turkish border, as well as in the outskirts of Homs, and other bases in Hama and Aleppo, completely destroying them.

The aim of these attacks was to prevent Turkey from strengthening its military foothold in Syria; however, no fighter jets or missile defense systems from Ankara were activated in response.

Atwan emphasized that the Zionist regime is gradually swallowing Syrian territory, confident that it faces no danger. If the current theory of competition between Turkey and Israel to seize Syria’s remnants holds true, all evidence suggests that the Zionist regime is winning this race.

The editor-in-chief of Rai Al-Youm wrote that Syria is currently a failed and broken state, with no signs on the horizon indicating a change in this situation in the future. Resistance against occupiers, especially Zionist occupiers, is the most precise tool for measuring national sovereignty and understanding the angles of the future. And in the absence of this military or even verbal resistance, the image of the future appears very dark and bleak, and it is not optimistic.
