Ahlulbayt News Agency: Head of Hamas Movement in the Gaza Strip, Khalil al-Hayya, said on Wednesday that “the Palestinian resistance has succeeded in exposing the true face of the occupation as a strategic enemy of the nation.”
The Hamas leader said the current phase is unprecedented in the history of Palestine.
He further said the Palestinian resistance, through Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, has irreversibly reshaped the struggle for Palestine.
Khalil Al-Hayya stated that the Movement “has exerted every effort since 7 October to end the aggression, killings, and terrorism perpetrated by the Zionist enemy, along with its ongoing settlement expansion.”
He affirmed that “Al-Quds remains the central symbol of this conflict, and any attempt to concede even a single inch of it is a betrayal of the entire nation.”
He stressed that “the occupation has overturned the agreement it signed and which was guaranteed by mediators and has resumed its aggression against Gaza.”
Al-Hayya also confirmed that the Movement “responded positively to recent proposals aimed at achieving a complete ceasefire and a full withdrawal of the enemy from Gaza.”
Since the renewed offensive began on Tuesday, 18 March, more than 800 Palestinians have been killed and over 1,660 injured—most of them women and children—according to the latest health ministry figures.
Israel’s assault on Gaza, which resumed after a brief ceasefire, continues a broader military campaign that began on 7 October 2023. To date, the onslaught has left over 163,000 Palestinians either dead or injured, with more than 14,000 people still missing—many believed to be buried beneath the rubble.
