Geopolitical developments have prompted Sudan to redefine its foreign policy and reduce its dependence on the West and Arab countries. In this context, strengthening ties with Iran, Russia, and China has become a priority for Khartoum. The resumption of Sudan-Iran relations, beyond economic and security benefits, could contribute to a shift in the regional balance of power. This transformation presents an opportunity for Iran to expand its influence in the Horn of Africa and the Red Sea.
