Ramadan; food shortage continues in Parachinar, roads remain blocked despite operation

Parachinar Residents Demand the Opening of the Main Road Before Ramadan

AhlulBayt News Agency: Parachinar and over 100 villages in Upper Kurram, home to nearly 500,000 people, are facing severe hardships. Due to road blockades, people are unable to access essential food supplies and medical treatment. The situation has worsened as convoy carrying food supplies for Ramadan was looted by terrorists in the Bagan Mandori area.

The shortage of food and essential items has forced people to start fasting and endure hunger even before Ramadan. Meanwhile, recent rainfall and snowfall have further aggravated the crisis. Parachinar residents have demanded immediate action to ensure food supply for Ramadan and to safeguard public lives and property.

over 30 trucks carrying food supplies to Kurram were looted while 19 trucks were set on fire after a convoy came under an attack at the Bagan, Charkhel, Ochat and Mandori areas. Several people, including security personnel and drivers, lost their lives in the incident.

Administration claims – Operation underway, 266 bunkers demolished

According to the district administration, under the peace agreement, 266 out of 600 bunkers have been demolished so far, and further steps are being taken to provide relief to the people.

Crackdown on Takfiri terrorists, over 100 arrested

RPO Kohat Abbas Majeed Marwat stated that an operation against Takfiri terrorists is ongoing in Bagan, Ochat Mandori, and surrounding areas under his supervision. During this operation, over 100 terrorists and their facilitators have been arrested, and looted food supplies and medicines have also been recovered.

Dawn reported: According to the Regional Police Officer (RPO) Kohat, Abbas Majid Marwat, the operation against terrorists continued at Charkhel, Ochat, Bagan, Mandori, Dad Kamar and adjacent areas and 20 more suspected insurgents and their facilitators were arrested, raising the number of detained militants to 85.
