Iran Sure to Punish Perpetrators of Terror Attack on Nuclear Scientist - Ambassador to Islamabad

Iran’s Ambassador to Islamabad of Pakistan Mohammad Ali Hosseini said his country keeps the legitimate right to punish perpetrators of the terror attack on the prominent nuclear scientist in accordance with international law.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Iran’s Ambassador to Islamabad of Pakistan Mohammad Ali Hosseini said his country keeps the legitimate right to punish perpetrators of the terror attack on the prominent nuclear scientist in accordance with international law.

Hosseini wrote on his Twitter account on Saturday that it is Iran’s legitimate right to punish the culprits behind the terror act against the top nuclear scientist Doctor Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, noting that the right is in full accordance with the international law.

In a relevant statement, the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Human Rights Headquarters condemned assassination of the country’s nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, and called on the UN to cooperate with Tehran in identifying and prosecuting the criminals who have conducted the terrorist attack.

“The Human Rights Headquarters calls on the UN Secretary-General, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights and the President of the Human Rights Council, as well as the western governments, to expeditiously and explicitly condemn the assassination of martyred scientist Fakhrizadeh without any reservation,” the statement said on Sunday.

It also asked them to “use all mechanisms for cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Judiciary to identify, sue and punish those who have ordered and committed the crime”.

The statement warned that ineffective positions and silence of the international figures and the western governments, which claim to fight against terrorism, on the assassination of Iranian nuclear scientist practically means legitimization of terrorism.

Fakhrizadeh's car was targeted by an explosion and machinegun fire in Damavand's Absard 40 kilometers to the East of Tehran on Friday.

The nuclear scientist and one of his companions were immediately taken to a nearby hospital but he could not be saved.
