Saudi warplanes launch series of raids on Yemen

Warplanes of the Saudi-led aggression waging war on Yemen carried out on Friday morning a series of raids on different parts in the country, with a majority focused on Al-Baidha governorate.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Warplanes of the Saudi-led aggression waging war on Yemen carried out on Friday morning a series of raids on different parts in the country, with a majority focused on Al-Baidha governorate.

A military source told Almasirah Net that the Saudi-led fighter jets launched 18 raids on Al-Baidha governorate, 10 of which were in the Qaniya area and Al-Sawadyah district, and 8 raids on the districts of Thei Na’aem, Natae and Radman.

The warplanes of aggression launched 5 raids on the Majzer of Marib governorate.

The aggression targeted Hayran district of Hajjah governorate, with 4 raids, and Kitaf district of Sa’adah governorate, with one raid.

The aerial aggression has launched 42 raids during the past 24 hours, that focused on the governorates of Marib and Al-Baidha, exceeding 36 raids on the two governorates.

Supported militarily by the US, the UK, and other Western countries, Saudi Arabia and a number of its regional allies launched the devastating war on Yemen in March 2015 to subdue a popular uprising that had overthrown a regime friendly to Riyadh.

The US-based Armed Conflict Location and Event Data Project (ACLED), a nonprofit conflict-research organization, estimates that the war has claimed more than 100,000 lives over the past five years.

More than half of Yemen’s hospitals and clinics have been destroyed or closed during the war by the Saudi-led coalition at a time when Yemenis are in desperate need of medical supplies to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.

At least 80 percent of the 28-million-strong population is also reliant on aid to survive in what the United Nations (UN) has called the world’s worst humanitarian crisis.
