AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Ayatollah Hussaini-Bushehri referred to the protests in the United States over the killing of George Floyd and said, “What’s going on in the United States today and why are statues being pulled down by the people? It’s not just the racism of Donald Trump and American officials, it’s the people who want serious change.”
In a statement made in lieu of Friday prayers which have been cancelled due to the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) outbreak, Ayatollah Sayyed Hashem Hussaini-Bushehri referred to the philosophy of tribulations and said, “Based on narrations, diseases and tribulations can be used to cleanse the believers but can be a punishment for the disbelievers. Tribulations and calamities have philosophies and wisdom behind them which increase talents, strengthen faith and forgive the sins of mankind.”
In honour of the beginning of the Ten Days of Dignity and the birth of Imam Ali al-Ridha and Lady Fatimah al-Ma’sumah, the secretary of the Supreme Council of the Islamic Seminaries said, “Due to the blessing of the existence of Lady Fatimah al-Ma’sumah, Qom is known as the shrine of the Ahl al-Bayt. Imam Ja’far al-Sadiq said that Qom is the shrine of Ahl al-Bayt and whoever visits Lady Fatimah al-Ma’sumah out of knowledge, heaven will be obligatory for him.”
Ayatollah Hussaini-Bushehri stated that Qom is the nest of the Family of the Prophet Muhammad and said, “Due to the blessing of the existence of the Karimah [Generous Lady] of the Ahl al-Bayt [Lady Fatimah al-Ma’sumah], Qom is a place of refuge and all people must appreciate this position. Qom is the centre of science and knowledge and there are great religious authorities [the sources of emulation], scholars and great seminaries in it due to the holy existence of the Ahl al-Bayt.”
His Eminence referred to recent developments in the United States and stated, “What’s going on in the United States today and why are statues being pulled down by the people? It’s not just the racism of Donald Trump and American officials, it’s the people who want serious change. The problem isn’t just limited to people of colour – even whites in the United States and European countries are fighting against capitalism.”
He added, “These developments are the result of the pressures that have been put on the people in the name of democracy. Maybe today the Westerners will suppress the people but, in the end, they won’t be able to stand against the actions of the people.”
Ayatollah Hussaini-Bushehri said, “It’s true that the enemies created problems for Iran but the country’s forces must move forward with empathy and people in the forces must not seek to create dissension. The country has important capacities and they must be used effectively.”
