Sultan Qaboos established Iran-Oman ties on basis of friendship, brotherhood

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Iran's President sent a message to the Sultan of Oman and the people of the country to offer them condolences over the passing of Sultan Qaboos.

President Hassan Rouhani’s message is as follows:

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

Your Majesty Haitham bin Tariq Al Said,

Honourable Sultan of Oman,

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh

The news of the passing of His Majesty Qaboos bin Said al Said, the late Sultan of Oman caused great grief and sorrow.

During his five decades of rule, he took many steps for the prosperity and welfare of his people and country, and with the mutual trust of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Oman Sultunate, established relations between the two countries on the basis of friendship and brotherhood and a model of good relations between neighbouring countries. He was a wise politician and played an important role in establishing peace and stability in the region.

I extend my condolences to Your Majesty, the Muslim people of Oman, and that house, and I pray to the Almighty for the deceased, and wish the people of the country prosperity and felicity.
