AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): A small number of residents of the Old City of al-Quds (Jerusalem) performed Friday prayer at the holy Al-Aqsa Mosque after the Israeli occupation authority (IOA) prevented worshipers from outside the town from reaching the Mosque and praying there for the fifth week in a row under the pretext of the lockdown.
Similar to the previous Friday, the Israeli occupation police were deployed at the gates of Al-Aqsa and checked citizens’ ID cards.
The markets of the Old City were empty of visitors due to the lockdown measures imposed by the IOA on the holy city under the pretext of preventing the spread of the coronavirus.
During the Friday sermon, the preacher of Al-Aqsa Mosque, Sheikh Muhammad Salim, warned Muslims not to forget al-Quds (Jerusalem) and Al-Aqsa.
The preacher called on the Palestinian people to intensify their presence at Al-Aqsa Mosque.
