A senior Israeli security official said that Israel now has fears against the domino effect and winds of change in the region, noting that the events in Egypt took Israel by surprise and its intelligence agencies did not know the situation could explode and evolve like this.

Israeli military and political leaders embarked nowadays to hold meetings and consultations to assess the situation in Egypt and the consequent impacts on the strategic balance in the region.

The Israeli military radio reported that the Israeli war ministry holds successive meetings to assess the developments in Egypt and discuss the implications of the possible removal of Hosni Mubarak on Israel.
