President Pezeshkian: Iran determined to expand regional peace, security

Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian said that the Islamic Republic’s approach focuses on expansion of peace and security in the West Asia region and among all Islamic countries.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian said that the Islamic Republic’s approach focuses on expansion of peace and security in the West Asia region and among all Islamic countries.

He made the remark on Monday in a meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Oman Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi in Tehran.

President Pezeshkian noted that the foreign policy of his government is based on expanding relations and strengthening cooperation with all Islamic, neighboring, and friendly countries, adding that Oman has a special place for Iran in this regard.

On the current developments in the region, he said, “it is completely unacceptable and undesirable for countries in the region and Muslim nations to have disputes among themselves while a criminal like the Zionist regime exploits this situation to harm them.”

Pezeshkian described Iran-Oman relations as long-running, cordial, and friendly, which have expanded in diverse fields and at various levels, adding that the continuation and further expansion of these constructive relations is of great importance for Tehran.

Referring to a bilateral agreement to hold a meeting of the Joint Economic Cooperation Commission in the near future, the Iranian president emphasized that good measures are underway to accelerate the implementation of past agreements and pave the way for new accords between the two countries.

The Omani minister, for his part, conveyed the warm greetings of the Sultan of Oman to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, President Pezeshkian, and the people of Iran, saying that the two nations have deep-rooted and historical relations based on trust and goodwill, which have been strengthened.

According to the foreign minister, Sultan Haitham bin Tariq has a strong interest in expanding ties with Iran.

Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi also regarded Iran-Oman bilateral relations as a model of cooperation, noting that the expansion of relations with Tehran, based on mutual respect and trust, has remained an unchanged principle for Muscat.
