AhlulBayt News Agency: Journalist Maysara Salah has succumbed to his injuries on Sunday after being shot by Israeli occupation forces (IOF) in northern Gaza.
The Palestinian Journalists Forum mourned journalist Maysara Salah, who worked for Quds News Network. In a press statement on Sunday, the Forum said, “Salah ascended on the path of freedom, paved with blood and sacrifices, in defense of the oppressed Palestinian people and to convey their suffering to the world.”
The Forum condemned the international silence and inability to protect Palestinian journalists and enable them to perform their professional duties according to international laws and humanitarian charters.
Yesterday, journalist Mamdouh Qneita was martyred after being targeted by an Israeli Quadcopter in the courtyard of the Baptist Hospital in southern Gaza City.
With the martyrdom of Salah, the number of journalists killed by the IOF rises to 192, with 396 journalists injured and 40 others detained since October 7, 2023, according to data published by the Government Media Office (GMO).
Earlier, the GMO called on the international community and organizations related to journalism worldwide to deter the IOF, pursue it in international courts for its ongoing crimes, and pressure it to stop the genocide and the killing of Palestinian journalists.
