ABWA Official Website – The Institute “أنا عراقية” (Ana Iraqiah: I’m an Iraqi Woman” held the first conference of the International Union of Anti-Oppression Women in cooperation with the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly and Al-Zahra (a.s.) University of Karbala, to declare solidarity with the innocent women and children of Gaza.
The conference was held under the title “ما رأیتُ الّا جمیلاً” (I saw nothing but beauty) on Saturday morning, November 11, 2023, in the Umm Abiha Hall of Al-Zahra (a.s.) University of Karbala, with the participation of students, professors, political, scientific, religious, and cultural figures from different countries, including Iraq, Bahrain, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iran, the UK, Argentina, etc.
The special guests and speakers of this conference were Dr. Fatemeh Tabatabai, the daughter-in-law of the late Imam Khomeini (r.a.), Dr. Zohreh Elahian, member of the Iranian Parliament and head of the Islamic Human Rights Commission, Dr. Fatemeh Qasempour, member of the Iranian Parliament and head of the women’s faction, etc.
