'Iran, Iraq not to let Gen. Soleimani’s case go unpunished': Official

A senior judicial official has announced that the case of the January 2020 assassination of General Qassem Soleimani will not remain unanswered as Iran and Iraq are determined to not let it go unpunished.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): A senior judicial official has announced that the case of the January 2020 assassination of General Qassem Soleimani will not remain unanswered as Iran and Iraq are determined to not let it go unpunished.

Kazem Gharibabadi, Iranian Judiciary chief’s deputy for international affairs, made the remarks on a TV program on Wednesday.

That a criminal is in the United States and it would not be on trial is unacceptable, said the official stressing that “justice” must be carried out.

He went on to say that Iran’s and Iraq’s determination will prevent the criminals from committing the same crimes.

The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Qods Force commander Lt General Soleimani and Abu Mahdi al-Mohandes, the acting commander of the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) – known as the Hashd al-Shaabi – were assassinated in Baghdad by the US attack on January 3, 2020.

Reportedly, such a terrorist attack did occur with a direct order of the then US president.
