Iranian Judiciary announces Quranic programs for holy month of Ramadan

Iran’s Judiciary said it plans to hold various Quranic programs during the holy month of Ramadan and the Iranian new year, which will begin on March 21.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Iran’s Judiciary said it plans to hold various Quranic programs during the holy month of Ramadan and the Iranian new year, which will begin on March 21.

Mostafa Attar, head of the Judiciary’s Quran and Etrat Department, told IQNA that from the beginning of the holy month, one Juz of the Holy Quran will be read every day at the Judiciary’s departments all over the country.

There is also daily Quran recitation programs very morning before the start of the working hours, he noted.

There will be a special Quranic program on the night before the 21st day of Ramadan, which will be attended by senior officials, including the Judiciary chief, Attar added.

He further referred to the annual Quran and Etrat competition for Judiciary staff and said the preliminary stage of the tenth edition of the Quranic event will begin in September.

Attar also said that in the teachings of the Holy Quran and the Seerah of Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) there are many teachings about the importance of upholding justice.

Given the importance of justice in the Quranic and religious teachings, the Judiciary plans to organize a series of forums titled “Essential Thoughts in Islam” in which senior religious scholar and preacher Hojat-ol-Islam Rafiei and others will deliver speeches about justice from the viewpoint of the Quran and Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS), he noted.

Attar went on to say that the speeches will be published and distributed across the country in the form of books and digital files.

Ramadan (which is likely to start on March 23 this year) is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar.

It is a period of prayer, fasting, charity giving and self–accountability for Muslims around the world.

The Quran was revealed to the Holy Prophet’s (PBUH) heart in this month.

During Ramadan, Muslims fast (abstain from foods and drinks) from sunrise to sunset.

They also devote a considerable amount of time during this month to reading and contemplating the Quran.

In Iran, various Quranic programs, including exhibitions, Quranic circles, Quran interpretation sessions and competitions are held every year in the holy month.
