17 Arab, Islamic countries announce Monday as Eid al-Fitr

So far, 17 Arab and Islamic countries have announced Monday as the first day of Shawwal and Eid al-Fitr.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): So far, 17 Arab and Islamic countries have announced Monday as the first day of Shawwal and Eid al-Fitr.

According to the Anatolian News Agency, so far, 17 countries, including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, UAE, Palestine, Yemen, Egypt, Lebanon, Libya, Tunisia, Sunnis of Iraq, Sudan, Turkey, Algeria, Syria, and Mauritania, have announced Sunday, the last day of the holy month of Ramadan and tomorrow as Eid al-Fitr.

The countries of Jordan, Morocco, Oman, and the Canary Islands, which started the holy month of Ramadan on April 3, one day after the countries mentioned above, will observe the moon Sunday, and it is not yet clear whether Eid will be announced on Monday.

It is worth mentioning that the Iraqi Shiites, who, like most of the previous years, started the holy month of Ramadan one day later, will start observing the moon this evening.

The head of the scientific committee of the moon observation headquarters, in the office of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, has also said that 100 groups will start observing the moon on Sunday.

The Office of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution announced in a statement that today Monday is the 30th of Ramadan, 1443 AH.
