An overview of American crimes throughout History

Sailing through history shows that the United States has always sought to achieve its extravagant goals in the field of international relations, and in this way it has not hesitated committing any crimes.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Sailing through history shows that the United States has always sought to achieve its extravagant goals in the field of international relations, and in this way it has not hesitated committing any crimes. The Machiavellian policy of the United States and its Western allies towards the countries of the world is carried out with the humanitarian and democratic slogans, but in the guise of human rights, freedom, human security, and… they have recorded heinous crimes in the history of the countries of the world.

Here are some of the most important crimes committed by the United States during its political life.
1. The massacre and genocide of 100 million of Native American Indians.

The massacre of Native Indians was an enormous and long_term crime that began after the discovery of the American continent by the Spanish sailors in the 16th century. These massacres were carried out mainly by European colonial powers, especially Spain, Portugal, France, and the United Kingdom, in order to dominate various parts of the American continent and with the purpose of acquiring Native American Indians properties. Later, especially in the second half of the nineteenth century, Americans played a major role in the massacre of North American Indians through forced migration and the ensuing wars.
The American Wars began with the first attack on the Indians in the Jamestown in 1662 which was followed by the war with the Algonquins redskins in 1635 and 1636 and the war of 1675 and 1676, which resulted to the destruction of half of the Massachusetts cities. Other American wars and attack on the Indians continued until 1900. In total, the Americans killed about 100 million Native American Indians.
2. Unites States war crime in the bombing attack on the city of "Dresden"
Considering that the Allies had won the war, none of the United States war crimes in the World War2 were prosecuted by a court. But this didn't mean that these crimes were not to be recorded in history.
The American troops in Germany directly or indirectly prevented German prisoners of War as well as civilians who were present in the area under their control from getting sufficient food that caused thousands of Germans to starve to death.
The Americans shot all the Waffen SS Germans they had been captured in Dachau in 1945.
Also the troops of the 45th Infantry Division of the US Army massacred 75 Italian prisoners of war in the Biscari Palace.
In the bombing of Dresden during World War2 the US Air Force bombers and its Allies dropped 3,900 tons of high-explosive bombs and incendiary bombs on Dresden in less than 15 hours in four attacks and completely destroyed 34 square kilometers of the city. The remains of the city were destroyed in a large fire that was resulted from the bombing.
According to the US Army claims, Dresden was a major military center with 110 factories and 50000 employees who were working in support of the Nazi government. While only Telecommunication infrastructures, bridges, and large industrial areas outside the city were bombed and the bombing attacks, were without any distinction between military or non-military and it had nothing to do with the military purposes.
There is disagreement about the number of people killed in the bombing the death toll ranges from 34000 to a very high number, the vast majority of whom were civilians.
According to an Interview with the newspaper "Die Welt" Erhard Mondra, a member of the Butzen Committee ((The Institute for Former Political Prisoners in the German Democratic Republic) said that: based on Lt. Colonel die Matze's statements a former German joint chiefs of staff officer in the Dresden military district, 35000 of the victims were fully identified, 50000 were partially identified, but about 168000 were unidentifiable.))
3. The Hiroshima and Nagasaki Disasters:
The atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were two nuclear operations which were carried out during World War2 with the order of Harry Truman against the Empire of Japan. In these two operations, two atomic bombs were dropped on the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki three days apart, which caused widespread destruction and killing of the citizens of these two cities.
The atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki may be considered as one of the America's greatest historical crimes, which resulted to the immediate death of 220000 people and hundreds of thousands of people became critically ill in the years that followed due to the effects of that disaster.
4. The massacre of 3 million Vietnamese with the participation of the United States.
The Vietnam War is a series of military operations and conflicts that took place from 1955 to 1975 between North Vietnamese forces and the national liberation front of South Vietnam, known as the "Viet Cong", on the one hand, and South Vietnamese forces and their allies especially the United States, on the other.
The US-Vietnam war began during Lyndon Johnson's presidency, and according to the statics, during the 16 years of War, about 3 million Vietnamese were killed.
The "My Lai massacre" as one of the America's war crimes is an incident on 16th March, 1968, during the Vietnam War during which 347 to 504 civilians of the Republic of South Vietnam were killed by soldiers of Company B from3rd US Infantry Regiment. Most of the civilian victims were women and children. Before the massacre, some of the victims had been tortured and mutilated. Some of the corpses were dismembered by the soldiers during the massacre. In addition to the massacre of the My Lai villages, there were other atrocities committed in My Khe and So'n Tinh in which many people were killed.
One of the most important crimes of the United States in the Vietnam War was the chemical spraying of the regions of the viet congs. The orange element which was bombed by the American planes with Dioxin, has led to diseases such as cancer and mental disability in this region over the years.
The Americans dropped 500000 ton of bombs on these lands every year, burned the forests with napalm and roasted humans alive.
In 1965 the border countries of Vietnam, Cambodia and laos were also targeted by US airstrikes due to the help of their troops to the Viet Cong. The raping of women, torture and killing of civilians by the United States forces from 1967 onwards, intensified and recorded an enormous crime in the history of the world.
5. The massacre of the Korean people by the United States in 1950
The Korean war was a war between the republic of Korea (south Korea) with the support of the United Nations led by the United States and the democratic people's republic of Korea (north Korea) with the support of China and military assistance from The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) which began on june25, 1950, with the entry of forces under the command of Kim ll Sung's communist government into the southern part.
The massacre of the civilians was one of the crimes committed by the United States in the war, in which about 300 Korean were killed by US military forces between July 26 and 29, 1950, in the village of No Gun Ri. This massacre was carried out by the 1st Infantry Division of the United States Army and it was done under the bridge of that village. This incident is considered to be the second bitter incident after the My Lai massacre.

This war left tens of thousands of direct civilian casualties. More than 4000 ISAF soldiers and civilian contractors, 15000 afghan national security forces, and also more than 20000 civilians were killed. The exact number of people killed in the war is not known at this moment. But according to a study by Professor " Marc Herold" published in the Guardian Newspaper, only in the first three months of the war more than 4000 people were killed. Only in 2009, 1054 people were killed by improvised explosive devices and roadside mines. Meanwhile, tens of thousands of civilians have died since US airstrikes began in Afghanistan in 2001.

In the first three weeks of these attacks, more than a thousand people were killed in these areas.
In October 17, 2001, at least 29 civilians were killed in an attack by an American fighter jet in a village near Kandahar. According to the Guardian newspaper, a convoy consisting of 12 vehicles carrying representatives of tribes from the eastern province who were on their way to the capital at the invitation the Kabul provisional government was targeted by a US army AC-130 plane, killing 65 people. The United Nations also announced on December 21 of that year that on December 29, 2001, US war planes had bombed a village near the town of Gardez, the capital of Yekta province. In this attack, at least 52 Afghan civilians, including a large number of women and children, were killed. A Pentagon spokesman claimed at the time that a Taliban ammunition depot had been destroyed in the village. The number of Afghan civilian casualties in 2001-2002 exceeded 9/11.
Professor Marc Herold emphasizes that 3,800 Afghan were murdered by the United States between October 7 and December 7, 2001.
The Associated Press reported the killing of 155 to 300 residents of Kame Edo village in Nangarhar on December 3, 2001, under the headline "The US bomb razed the farmland". Eco News Agency and other international media reported the killing of 90 civilians in the village of Panjvai in Kandahar on October 25, 2006. The American forces caused a great tragedy by bombing this village, but they never apologized for these massacres.
According to the report of the government of Afghanistan on May, 2007, at least 42 people, including a number of women and children, were killed in a two-days bombing a village near Herat by American fighter jets.
