Western Iran quake toll soars to 437

(AhlulBayt News Agency) - Following death of an injured citizen, the last Sunday quake toll has reached as high as 437 with two of them still remaining unidentified, according to Iranian Legal Medicine Organization (LMO).

The Organization put total number of the victims in the quake-hit cities as follows: 387 in Sarpol-Zahab (two of the dead remaining unidentified), 14 in Karand, 16 in Qasr-e-Shirin, 12 in Salas, one in Kermanshah, one in Tazehabad and six in Ozgoleh.

The report says DNA samples have been taken from the unidentified victims in order for genetic tests.

A 7.3-magnitude earthquake shook the western province of Kermanshah and the regions bordering Iraq on Nov 12. The quake was felt in some neighboring countries as well.

Based on the latest statistics, at least 437 people have been killed and over 10,179 injured in quake-stricken areas in Iran.
