Unity, cause of Iraqi people's victories in fighting against takfiri group: Iranian cleric

In a meeting with Iraqi Foreign Minister, Hujjat al-Islam Seyyed Ebrahim Raeisi called the recent victories of the Iraqi people against the Takfiri terrorist groups as the result of national unity in the country and noted, “I hope the recent victories in Iraq against the Takfiri groups that have rooted from national unity continues after the defeat of these groups.”

“If this unity is broken, the achievements will be vanished and there will also be new threats against the Iraqi people” said the Member of the Expediency Council.

Board Member of the Assembly of Experts, then emphasized the importance of relying on domestic capacities for the development and excellence of a country and stated, “In the early days of the emergence of ISIS and its expansion in Iraq, some in Iraq and even Iran thought that the United States intends and can defeat this group; however, what has happened in those years has shown that coping with a national threat is possible by relying on young forces and the deployment of internal forces.”

Hujjat al-Islam Raeisi introduced the deep compassion of the two nations of Iran and Iraq to the Infallible Imams (A.S.), a great potential for communication between the two nations and asserted, “This capacity doubles the duty of the governments of Iran and Iraq to ​​facilitate the movement of the pilgrims and increasing their security, especially during the Arbaeen days.”
