Yemen’s Ansarullah hails liberation of Iraq's Mosul

(AhlulBayt News Agency) - Yemen’s Houthi Ansarullah Movement applauded liberation of the Iraqi city of Mosul from the ISIS terrorist group as a major triumph for all nations countering the US and Israeli plots.

The political council of Ansarullah in a statement congratulated the Iraqi government and nation for recapturing the city of Mosul.

The defeat of ISIS in Iraq dealt a heavy blow to an American scheme for employing the terrorist group to foment chaos in the region and partition regional countries, the statement added, according to Al-Manar TV.

Iraq’s victory against terrorists is in fact a victory for the Yemenis and for all advocates of freedom in the world who oppose the US and Israeli hegemony, it said.

Last week, Iraq declared the complete liberation of Mosul some three years after the northern city fell to ISIS terrorists.

After eight months of difficult urban warfare, Iraqi military forces on June 29 captured the Mosul mosque at the heart of the strategic northern city, where ISIS had declared its de facto capital.

The recapture of Mosul, located some 400 kilometers north of Baghdad, marked the effective end of ISIS in the Arab country.

ISIS stronghold in Syria’s Raqqa is also close to falling.
